It’s Anahita and Salar’s Wedding Day!!!

Today we have the honor of being a part of a beautiful Persian wedding at Estancia La Jolla.  The wedding will include rich pinks, golds and lots of candlelight.  Through planning with the couple we were able to help their luxurious vision come to life and we can’t wait to see their inspiration (see below) in person.  Congratulations to you two!Anahita_and_Ryan's_Inspiration_Board

It’s Holly and Grant’s Wedding Day – Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding

Today we get to celebrate with a really cool couple – Holly and Grant.  Based in LA, the couple wanted to fuse their laid back style with vintage glam.  The bride chose a natural Tuscan theme with farm tables, soft burlap and French lace along with mahogany, blush and mercury accents.  The celebration will take place at my very favorite venue – Scripps Seaside Forum and will be glamorous yet not overdone and we have a fabulous team – Giuseppe Fine Catering, Samuel Lippke Studio for photography, Concepts Event Design, Crown Rentals, La Tavola Linens, Cuban Cigar Factory, Flowers by Sharrie Woods, cake by VG Donut and more.

Check out the inspiration board we created for them:

Congratulations Holly and Grant!  We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

It’s Nancy and Jake’s Wedding Day – Calumet Park La Jolla + Pearl Chinese Restaurant

At First Comes Love we plan all kinds of weddings.  The last wedding of 2013 was an elegant Orthodox Jewish wedding for 350 guests at the US Grant Hotel while the first wedding of 2014 takes us to Calumet Park in La Jolla for a short and sweet American wedding ceremony followed by a traditional tea ceremony and 10 course Chinese dinner reception.  We love the diversity of events we get to plan!

For today’s wedding we worked with the bride and groom to bridge their cultures – the groom is Caucasian and the bride is Asian – to create a fun cherry blossom themed reception.

Congratulations Nancy and Jake!!!

It’s Danielle and Kevin’s Wedding Day!!!

Love, love, love Danielle and Kevin!!!  This couple is so sweet, down to earth and truly love each other!  We’ve had the opportunity to work with them over the past year to plan their beautiful wedding at the stunning Grand Del Mar.

The couple met, fell in love and 5 years later got engaged.  Here is the proposal story from their perspective.

The Proposal:

My dad had made last minute plans to come to town for work and my mom joined him to visit with us. She brought the ring down from San Francisco (where it was being custom made). Friday night we met up with them for a nice dinner at our favorite place, Flemings, for prime steaks. Apparently, my mom had the ring in her purse the whole time – I was wondering why she was abnormally clutching onto it for dear life. The ring box was much too big to fit into Kevin’s pocket and couldn’t get time away alone together long enough to pass off the ring – so it wasn’t going to happen that night. We had a great day Saturday with my mom, out and about in San Diego, and planned a casual night, BBQ and games, at our house. With plans for my mom and I to go grocery shopping for dinner, she stealthily planted the ring box in our bathroom, so while we were gone Kevin could finally get the look he had been DYING for and re-hide it. We had a fun night of backyard burgers and Wii bowling with my Mom, Dad, Boba Steve and Katy. 5 minutes after everyone left, Kevin proposed, I was in complete shock. He had all these elaborate plans to take me on a boat and serenade me around the bay, but couldn’t wait to put the ring on my hand 1 minute longer!! I loved that it was just us, in our house, with our doggie – perfectly us. We concluded our special night with a champagne celebration at my parents’ hotel.
